Change is Inevitable. Growth is Intentional.
~ Glenda Cloud

Individual counselling is sought out for a variety of different reasons. For some, it is a very specific issue or problem they are currently facing including, anxiety, depression, trauma/traumatic incident(s), a challenging life transition, stress, work-related struggles, grief & loss to name a few. For others, it is an opportunity for personal growth in areas such as, purpose & life goals, confidence & loving yourself, career counselling, improving self-awareness, and more.

Whatever your reason, it takes courage and strength to reach out for help. The fact that you are here and are curious is a sign of readiness for change, and movement in a better direction.

I believe that every person is an expert in their own lives, and my role is to support and walk alongside you as we explore ways to overcome your personal struggles by building upon the strengths & resiliency that already lies within you.

In pursuit of the "good enough" relationship

Are you unhappy in your relationship? Are you and your partner always at odds with one another? Do you feel unheard or misunderstood? Does it seem like you and your partner are always having the same argument over and over and over? Do you feel "stuck"?

Did you know that 69% of all relational conflict is perpetual? Even healthy couples have them! The difference between healthy & unhealthy couples is how these conflicts are processed. These problems occur due to fundamental differences between couples (their personal beliefs, how they were raised, their value systems etc). These fundamental differences cannot be changed, and therefore these issues cannot be "solved" but instead the goal is to establish effective & respectful dialogue, and to "make peace" with the problem.

I have completed the Level I and II training from the Gottman Institute and have seen first-hand the effectiveness of using the Gottman Method when working with couples.

Why Gottman Method? It is a research-based and practical approach which teaches couples the necessary skills to positively manage conflict and rebuild their friendship.

Speak Up When You Are Down

Do you feel overwhelmed? Do you experience moments of unexplained anger or rage? Are you feeling down, sad, or inadequate? Are you unable to sleep, eat, or concentrate? Do you feel like you are just "going through the motions"? Are you having "scary" or worrisome thoughts?

Do you find sayings like "Welcome to motherhood" or "It's normal, you're just adjusting" to be unhelpful and make you feel worse?

These are just some of the common experiences of women during their first year postpartum. If this sounds like you, then you may be experiencing postpartum depression and/or postpartum anxiety. But there is good news because:

You are not alone

You are not to blame, and

With the right help you will get better!

I offer both individual sessions & group support for women. In-home sessions available.
