Society's "Perinatal Support Skills & Group Facilitation" series and Maternal Mental Health NOW's “Bringing Light to
Motherhood”.
Outside of her role of Clinical Counsellor, Stefanie is a mother of 3 young children. Her role and
experience with motherhood has taught her invaluable lessons about life which inform her practice
and work with clients. Through her own personal ups and downs, and parenting challenges, she has
learned about patience, understanding, compassion, and perseverance to a degree which cannot be
found in any textbook.
What can a peer support group offer me?
Whether you are a new mom, or this is your 3rd child, we all could benefit from a little extra support from time to time. Support groups are a wonderful way to connect with like-minded individuals, share personal stories, and learn from the experiences of others who "get it". It serves as a reminder that you are not alone.
What can you gain from attending a peer support group? Besides connecting with other moms, you will be provided you with psycho-educational information and tools to help you cope with common struggles that many mothers face in their first year postpartum.
Most importantly, support groups provide a safe, encouraging, and confidential environment where
participants can share & learn from one another. I hope you will join us!
