Joanne has an integrative and holistic approach to therapy with a goal to create a compassionate and non-judgemental space where clients can feel heard and supported. As a spiritually integrated therapist, she works from a relational and person centred framework to support individuals to access their inner wisdom and innate capacity for healing. 

 

Joanne has worked with a diverse range of individuals who are experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, or may have a history of trauma. Using a trauma informed lens, she will accompany you as you navigate difficult or overwhelming times including: life transitions, grief, stress, anxiety, depression and trauma, ecoanxiety. You may be seeking support for a specific issue, wanting to better understand and change negative beliefs about yourself, patterns or ways of relating. She has a gentle manner and is honoured to walk with clients on their journey of self discovery.

 

When working with clients, she uses an integrated approach to therapy based on an individual's needs. She draws on self psychology, family systems, and attachment theories.  Modalities she uses may include Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative, Solution Focussed Brief Therapy and mindfulness. Joanne is an Internal Family Systems Informed and EMDR trained therapist

 

Joanne has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Calgary and a Master of Pastoral Studies, with a Certificate in  Psychotherapy and Spiritual Care from Emmanuel College, the University of Toronto. She is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, a Professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) possessing a Canadian Certified Counsellor (Qualifying) designation. She is also a Minister with the United Church of Canada, a Hatha Yoga teacher, and forest therapy guide.
